Government Regulations
In order to comply with the commitments it has made to reduce carbon emissions into the atmosphere, the government has instructed building regulation authorities to ensure that construction of buildings and houses are to certain standards. These regulations and standards cover all aspects of building (you can read more about it at this government website).
Government building regulations go only so far in that they demand just a minimum standard of construction and ventilation (document L and document F). Two better standards of construction including ventilation are ‘good' and ‘best' practice. To find out more about what is current best practice go to www.est.org.uk/bestpractice.
